Our identity

One platform. Many traditions.

A worldwide collaboration initiator for guitarists and players of stringed instruments, grounded in the work of Fingerpickers in Africa since 2019.

Why we exist

We believe string music offers a way to share knowledge, preserve musical traditions and create opportunities across communities. Our work connects performers, educators, organizers and audiences through concerts, learning and artistic exchange.

Where we began

Our foundation is Fingerpickers in Africa, established in Rwanda in 2019. Strings Across Continents carries its mission forward with a wider international scope.

Celebrate African guitar languages and other string traditions without separating them from their communities.

Support learning, mentorship and professional opportunities.

03 / 03

Meaningful exchange

Build collaborations across Africa, Europe, the Americas and beyond.

Our mission

Initiate. Activate. Create.

We bring stringed-instrument musicians into meaningful collaboration across borders and traditions, helping ideas become shared compositions, recordings, concerts, workshops, and long-term partnerships. Our roots are in the school, festivals, free workshops, and relationships built through Fingerpickers in Africa.
